Magnetic Kit

Model Number: MTME-19

The Magnetic Kit is a comprehensive collection of magnets and accessories supplied in a convenient storage tray for a wide range of magnetism experiments. Micro Technologies supplies the kit with a 100 mm horseshoe magnet with keepers, two 75 mm ceramic bar magnets, three 38 mm ceramic ring magnets, two 19 mm plotting compasses, one lodestone specimen, one pack of iron filings, and strips of iron, aluminium, zinc, and copper. The combination of magnetic and non-magnetic materials makes the kit useful for investigating magnetic poles, attraction, repulsion, magnetic fields, material response, and related phenomena.

Product Specification

The Magnetic Kit combines commonly required magnets, compasses, magnetic-field materials, and metal samples into one organized experimental set. Supplied in a storage tray, the kit provides convenient access to multiple components for carrying out a broad range of practical magnetism investigations.

A 100 mm horseshoe magnet with keepers is included for experiments involving magnetic poles, attraction, field concentration, and magnetic-field patterns. The keeper provides appropriate storage across the poles when the magnet is not being used.

The kit also contains two ceramic bar magnets, each approximately 75 mm long. These magnets can be used individually or together to investigate attraction between unlike poles, repulsion between like poles, magnetic-field direction, and interactions between permanent magnets.

Three ceramic ring magnets of approximately 38 mm diameter provide an additional magnet geometry for comparative experiments. Their circular form allows magnetic behaviour to be investigated using a configuration different from conventional bar and horseshoe magnets.

Two plotting compasses with an approximate diameter of 19 mm are included for investigating magnetic-field direction. They can be positioned at different points around a magnet to observe how the compass needle responds to the surrounding field.

A lodestone specimen is provided to introduce naturally magnetic material and enable comparisons with manufactured permanent magnets.

The included iron filings can be used to visualize magnetic-field patterns. When appropriately distributed over a suitable surface near a magnet, the filings align according to the surrounding magnetic field and provide a visible representation of its distribution.

The kit also includes strips of iron, aluminium, zinc, and copper, enabling comparative investigations into how different materials respond when brought near a magnet. This combination helps distinguish strongly magnetic materials from materials that do not show the same readily observable attraction under ordinary experimental conditions.

All components are supplied together in a storage tray, helping keep the apparatus organized and simplifying handling between experiments. The broad selection of components makes the Magnetic Kit a versatile solution for magnetism and magnetic-field laboratory requirements.
