Product Specification Sheet
Jacketed Mixing Reactor up to 300 L
Model Number: MTR-01
The Jacketed Mixing Reactor up to 300 L from Micro Technologies is designed for controlled mixing, heating, cooling and reaction processing of liquids and compatible process materials. The reactor incorporates a jacketed vessel, motor-driven agitator, process connections, temperature monitoring provisions and bottom discharge, making it suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical, research, pilot plant and process-development applications.
Product Specification
The Jacketed Mixing Reactor from Micro Technologies is a versatile process system designed for applications requiring simultaneous agitation and controlled temperature conditions.
The reactor consists of a central process vessel surrounded by an external jacket through which suitable heating or cooling media can be circulated. This arrangement enables indirect transfer of heat between the jacket medium and the process material inside the vessel.
A motor-driven stirrer provides continuous agitation of the process contents. Proper mixing helps improve uniformity, heat transfer and contact between different ingredients during reaction, dissolution, blending or other suitable processes.
The illustrated configuration includes provisions for heating media, cooling media, temperature measurement, process addition, venting and bottom discharge. These connections allow the reactor to be integrated into a larger pilot plant or production process.
Capacities can be supplied up to approximately 300 litres, making the system suitable for research-scale operations, pilot batches, scale-up studies and suitable small-process applications.
The reactor can be configured according to required process conditions, including vessel capacity, agitation system, jacket arrangement, materials of construction and instrumentation.

Working Principle
1. Material Charging
The required process materials are introduced into the reactor vessel through suitable charging or inlet connections.
2. Agitation
The motor drives the agitator, which continuously mixes the material inside the vessel.
3. Heating
When heating is required, a suitable hot medium is circulated through the external jacket. Heat is transferred indirectly through the vessel wall to the process material.
4. Cooling
For cooling applications, a suitable cooling medium is circulated through the jacket to remove heat from the process material.
5. Temperature Monitoring
A temperature-sensing provision allows the process temperature to be monitored during mixing and reaction operations.
6. Process Completion
Once the required mixing, reaction or temperature-controlled operation is complete, the processed material can be discharged through the bottom outlet.
Jacketed Heating & Cooling System
Heating Operation
The jacket surrounding the reactor can receive a suitable heating medium to raise and maintain the process temperature.
Cooling Operation
Cooling water or another suitable cooling medium can be circulated through the jacket when the process requires controlled cooling.
Indirect Heat Transfer
The jacket keeps the heating or cooling medium separate from the actual process material while transferring thermal energy through the vessel wall.
Mixing System
Motor-Driven Agitation
The motor-driven stirrer continuously moves the process material inside the reactor, promoting uniform mixing.
Improved Process Uniformity
Proper agitation can improve:
- Material distribution
- Heat transfer
- Component contact
- Dissolution
- Reaction uniformity
- Product consistency
