Product Specification Sheet
Inoculation Chamber
Model Number: MTIC-01
The Inoculation Chamber from Micro Technologies provides an enclosed workspace for microbiological inoculation, culture handling and related laboratory procedures. It features glass viewing windows, fluorescent illumination and an ultraviolet germicidal lamp to support controlled laboratory working conditions.
Product Specification
The Inoculation Chamber is designed to provide a convenient enclosed working space for laboratory procedures involving microbial cultures, inoculation and sample handling.
The chamber is constructed using thick plywood, with plywood sheets provided on the top and bottom surfaces as well as the rear section. This provides a sturdy structure suitable for routine laboratory operation.
The front side incorporates thick glass windows, while the lower section includes two circular openings on the front panel. These openings allow the operator to access and manipulate materials inside the chamber while working.
For internal visibility, the chamber is equipped with a fluorescent tube, which illuminates the working area and allows convenient observation of samples and laboratory materials.
An ultraviolet germicidal tube is also provided. UV exposure can be used for surface decontamination of the empty chamber before or after work, following appropriate laboratory safety procedures.
The chamber is available in two different internal sizes, allowing laboratories to select a configuration according to available workspace and operational requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Inoculation Chamber?
An Inoculation Chamber is an enclosed laboratory workspace designed to assist with microbiological inoculation, culture handling and related laboratory procedures.
What sizes are available?
The chamber is available with internal dimensions of approximately 30 × 18 × 18 inches and 40 × 20 × 20 inches.
What is the chamber made from?
The specified chamber is constructed mainly from thick plywood, with glass viewing windows on the front.
How can the operator work inside the chamber?
Two circular access openings are provided on the lower front section for handling materials placed inside the chamber.
Does the chamber have internal lighting?
Yes. A fluorescent tube is provided to illuminate the internal working area.
Does it have a UV germicidal lamp?
Yes. The chamber includes an ultraviolet germicidal tube for surface decontamination when the chamber is unoccupied.
Can UV light be used while working inside the chamber?
No. Direct exposure of the eyes or skin to germicidal UV radiation should be avoided. The UV lamp should be used only according to appropriate laboratory safety procedures.
Is this the same as a Biosafety Cabinet?
No. A basic inoculation chamber should not be treated as a biosafety cabinet or laminar airflow cabinet unless it has the required engineered airflow, filtration and certified containment features.
What power supply does it require?
The specified chamber operates on approximately 220/230V AC supply.
