DIESEL ENGINE - FOUR STROKE
Vertical flask type demonstration model, on metal base. This type of engine is used
in diesel cars, jeeps, Buses, truckes, Tractors and Generating sets. This an internal
combustion type engine. The thermal energy which is released when the is burned
is converted into mechanical energy. In this type of engine air alone is drown into
the cylinder and is compressed in a ratio of 14:1 to 25:1 As a result of this high
compressing, air is heated to a temperature of 700°C to 900°C. Now a certain
amount of diesel is injected injected into the cylinder. Becuase of the prevailing
high temperature, the fuel ignites spontaneously. The four strokes involves are:
1. Intake stroke
2. Compression stroke
3. Power stroke
4. Exhaust stroke
